Penn State Message Board Meltdown: Virginia Edition

Last week I made a decision that following each loss this season, I would dig into the message boards to take the temperature of the Penn State faithful, in an attempt to gauge just where Penn State stands in the eyes of it’s most loyal (insane) fans. I find this extremely rewarding and it will be my silver lining surrounding each Penn State loss.

Let’s check in with the experts, shall we?

“Lost again because of Roof! His aggressive play calling and stunt left the running back free to swing out of the backfield for that reception. The announcers circled, called out and said exactly where the football was going for the touchdown. Ted Roof I’m thinking was not the answer for our D.”

This might be my favorite one, right out of the gate. D gives up just a couple rushing yards, holds opponent to 17 while creating 4 turnovers and Ted Roof is the goat. Awesome!

“Doom and gloom is here it isn’t fictional jargon I made up. Psu is living it. The acts of a few men and Emmert set this program back at least 10 yrs. even UVA fans know psu is better. But a crap kicker misses 4 field goals!”

If there’s anything that indicates a decade worth of disaster, it’s a one-point loss on the road!

“Before this game I thought 4-8 now it’s more like 2-10. A win against Navy and maybe a win against some Big 10 team with the grace of God and a Miracle.
This is what happens when you don’t recruit and lack depth at several positions.”

If only someone would have recruited a kid like Silas Redd or maybe Derrick Thomas…Curtis Drake…Justin Brown… Stupid recruiting!

“Poor, poor, poor coaching
Poor play calling
Poor defensive schemes
Very poor preparation
Wrong players in the wrong spots
Bill talks a good game but so far he has shown sh!t.”

5 drives of 10 plays or more. 19 first downs. A 16-10 lead with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Don’t let facts get in the way of a good rant!

2-10 is more realistic. Penn State would never lose to Indiana or Temple.

Derek Day is doin all that he can but he isnt FBS talent at all…why in the world would this kid be subjected to 15+ carries of 1-3 yds per carry? Lynch couldnt possibly do any worse. Day doesnt block well either so why is he in there???????????????\
