Penn State lost a hard-fought battle with Virginia in Charlottesville on Saturday, but it wasn’t a totally negative experience. And the game balls go to…

Offensive Player of the Game

Allen Robinson

Two weeks into the season, A-Rob is now a two-time VBR Offensive Player of the Game. After a nine catch performance earned him the honor last week, he showed up even bigger against Virginia. Robinson’s 10 catches were enough to lead the conference again and his 19 grabs through two weeks is tied for 4th in the country. His 89 yards weren’t overwhelming, but many of the plays designed to get him the ball are short routes and his 30 yard diving touchdown grab in the fourth quarter was the biggest (positive) play of the game for the Nittany Lions.
For a little perspective, Justin Brown had 35 catches all of last season. Robinson is on pace to break that mark by the time Big Ten play starts.

Honorable Mention: Matt McGloin
