The Elite 11 finalists were named on Thursday night. E11 is a national organization that invites the top 24 high school quarterbacks in the country to compete against one another. Previous participants include Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Vince Young and Matt Stafford.
Twelve quarterbacks had already been selected to the finals prior to tonight, including Michigan commit Shane Morris and USC commit Max Browne.
The 1st quarterback selected on Thursday, unanimously, was Virginia native and Penn State commit Christian Hackenberg who drew great praise from the E11 bosses. One coach said he’s “terrific on tape…his footwork, decision making” and added that he’s a “top three quarterback.” The coach also also commended him on his short and intermediate throws.
Trent Dilfer gushed over Christian, calling him “a kid you build your program around.” He added that “your program is better on day one when he steps on campus.”
Penn State fans hope that the Elite 11 coaches are right!
Congratulations to Christian Hackenberg and good luck!
