After being offered in late April, Freddie Stevenson told me that his top five included, UCF, USF, Texas A&M, Penn State and Western Kentucky. He added that he would re-assess things following Spring practice.
That re-assessment has happened.
Freddie told me yesterday that he has narrowed it down to Florida State, Penn State and Texas A&M, with the Aggies as his current favorite.
The 6’1″ 220 pound three star outside linebacker has offers from those three schools, as well as West Virginia, Houston, NC State, Purdue and others.
He tells me that he will likely wait until the Fall to visit Texas A&M and Penn State, when he can take official visits, but he intends to camp this summer at Florida State and Florida.
Freddie’s commitment is probably a few months away, and it’s tough to gauge where he’s at with PSU right now, but I do find it interesting that his favorite is not a Florida school, indicating that staying close to home will not be the top deciding factor. That is always a big part of the battle when recruiting Florida kids.
