We’re occasionally reminded of the changes that have taken place in Penn State over the last several months. This morning, we were given one of those reminders. Penn State landed a verbal commitment from a Florida player, the first in over a decade. Defensive back, Neiko Robinson received an offer from Penn State last week and committed early Monday morning. Neiko has not yet visited the PSU campus, but did not hesitate due to that.
Neiko will likely be a safety at the next level, and he has the tools to be a good one. Don’t get too caught up in his rankings before you watch his film. He has a really good skill set for a safety and what he lacks in size, he makes up for with pop.
Neiko transferred from a Georgia high school to a Florida school before last season. That could be the reason for his lack of exposure, or it could simply be that he wasn’t promoted properly by his coaches, etc. Whatever the reason, it is not a lack of talent.
5’11″ 170 lbs.
