DE Curtis Cothran commits to Penn State

Curtis Cothran was in State College for an unofficial visit on Saturday and the lifelong Nittany Lions fan was offered a scholarship by Bill O’Brien. Although the consensus was that Curtis would take his time and visit a couple more schools, the Newtown, PA. standout DE proved that theory wrong and committed to Penn State on Monday evening.

Rumors ran wild on Sunday night that he had committed, but when I reached out he simply told me “I’m going to.” “Soon.” That’s a weird spot to be in for me. I’m never going to ruin a kid’s moment, but when readers start asking me about it, I’m never sure what to say! Cothran told me that he wanted to be with his head coach when he made the call and that he was “surprised when they offered.” He added that “it felt great.”

Curtis is listed as a 3 star DE by 247Sports and tells me his is around 6’5″ 250 lbs. You can his film here: Curtis Cothran
