March 31st is lining up to be an important day for visitors on the Penn State campus, but March 24th could carry some weight, too. 290 lbs of weight, to be exact.
New Jersey DT Greg Webb told me this week that he will be visiting Penn State this weekend. Greg is one of the top defensive tackles in the country, as well as a top player in the state of New Jersey.
You can believe that defensive line coach Larry Johnson will be busy charming Greg during his trip. That’s not hard to do when you’re a coach who seemingly turns out an All-American and/or 1st round draft pick every other season.
Webb is a standout player on the wrestling mat, as well as the football field. Personally, I’m a big fan of wrestlers as football players. They have a great feel for leverage and how to use their weight as well as an extra bit of attitude. It’s also much of the reason that he carries his weight so well.
Greg says he is not close to making a college decision, but I’ll have my ear to the ground just in case!
