Penn State Recruiting – Nyeem Wartman is #11

by Penn State

Penn State gets their 11th verbal for the 2nd time as Nyeem Wartman commits.  He was at Lift for Life, and obviously that was enough for him to pull the trigger.  He was set to announce July 22nd, but decided against waiting.  Very good get for Penn State, as PSU now has their LB spot set for the class…Camren Williams and Nyeem Wartman.

Nyeem Wartman (6’2 225)

Offers: PSU, Florida, Boston College, Rutgers, Illinois, NC ST, Northwestern, Pitt, & Syracuse

Pros

  • Fundamentals & Technique
  • Can play MLB or OLB
  • Stays low and explodes through when tackling
  • Shows solid instincts/Reading the play

Cons

  • Good athlete, not a great athlete
  • First step isn’t top tier

He’s a good LB for PSU.  Can play both MLB or OLB, is good against the pass…I think he is extremely underrated by most sites (3-Star by some).

Also, keeps your eyes out for Arthur Flores (6’6 295 OL from CO).  He may get an offer in the coming days.  He was told today was the decision day, but PSU told him they weren’t ready.  He may commit to SD ST, but a PSU offer could still come.
