We all know the drill. Penn State basketball is going to have it tough next year. Seniors are gone, Talor Battle is gone, Lewis Preston is gone. All is lost. But what if it wasn’t? What if Ed DeChellis somehow turned around his recruiting struggles and picked up a few players that could keep a somewhat succesful 4 years going. Take out a disaster in 2009-10 and things aren’t all that bad. I mean, ok, it wasn’t exactly a parade of wins, but an NIT Title and an NCAA appearance is something to start from.
So where does that begin? If Penn State basketball is going to go anywhere next year it will come from a 4 man freshman class led by Trey Lewis. While I’m not going to sit here and tell you that this kid is going to be the next Talor Battle, I can tell you he’s the most impressive player I’ve seen on tape before coming to Happy Valley. A lot of things will need to go the Nittany Lions way to return to the Dance next year, big man play, leadership, shooting ect. But if there is any reason to hope for a brighter day ahead. It’s Trey Lewis.
