With Penn State’s wrestling season over and a National Title tucked away in the cabinet, Penn State’s coach Cael Sanderson got back to wrestling on his own this weekend at the Northeast Regionals Freestyles in Brockport, N.Y. Cael at the ripe old age of 31 took to the mat and won himself a couple of matches, mostly in overwhelming fashion. Anything less would have been somewhat of a shock, but in the end you still have to go out and wrestle.
Sanderson hasn’t said no to the idea of a comeback, but obviously the time spent coaching a now National Title holding team leaves little room for armaturepursuits. There isn’t really any telling how many more competitions Sanderson will find himself in over the offseason, but to say he hasn’t lost his touch would be a bit of an understatement.
