As conference tournaments have progressed, there are some new match-ups that Penn State fans need to monitor closely.
Friday, March 11th:
Georgia vs Alabama – 1PM – Round 2 SEC - Huge implications in this game. Georgia can probably still Dance with a loss, but Alabama needs a win. Nearly a knockout game for both teams.
Illinois vs Michigan – 2PM ESPN – Round 2 Big Ten - I must have missed this game on the first Rooting Guide. Illinois is in better shape than Michigan and is a lock if they win. Michigan is very likely in with a win, but sweating it out if they lose.
Boston College vs Clemson – 2PM ESPN2 – Round 2 ACC – Knockout game in the ACC. Loser will very likely be done while the winner has a much better shot.
East Carolina vs Memphis – 3PM – C-USA Semifinals - East Carolina likely dashed UAB’s hopes at an at-large yesterday, will they do the same to Memphis?
New Mexico vs #8 BYU – 9PM – MTN West Semifinals – New Mexico knocked Colorado State off the bubble yesterday and are looking to beat BYU for the third time this season. BYU struggled with TCU, so this is a very real possibility. Root against it.
Michigan State vs #9 Purdue – 6:30PM BTN – Round 2 Big Ten – Sparty stayed afloat with a win over Iowa and would be lock city if they win here. A loss and they remain on the bubble.
USC vs #15 Arizona – 9PM FSN – Pac-10 Semifinals – USC can bolster their strange resume with a win over the Wildcats. They are likely done with a loss.
Virginia Tech vs Florida State – 9PM ESPN2 – Round 2 ACC – Virginia Tech is a lock if they win, but very much on the bubble with a loss.
